The Superbowl of Physical Therapy Business
Are you playing to win the “Superbowl of Physical Therapy Business” this year?
Do you want to be the BEST place in your community for patients to get treated, the best place for physicians to refer, the best place for employees to work?
At the end of the year, there will be a winner in your community. Will it be you?
Most practices go about their business as if they have all the time in the world. They might have a 3-year plan, a 5-year plan, or something like that. But I want you to have a “THIS YEAR” plan. Play to win like you want to win THIS YEAR. Do you want to be the BEST?? Then win the Superbowl of physical therapy business, each and every year! You have eight more months left. Are you going to take advantage of it?
Buddha says, “The trouble is…we think we have time.”
Start by adopting a new mentality. It is only March so you have just over 8 months left. A lot can be done, a lot can be achieved. Here are some steps and strategies to win the superbowl of physical therapy private practice.
1) Research your competitors. What are they doing right? What are they doing wrong? Check out their website, their ads. Mystery shopper call their office. Make sure your office doesn’t make similar mistakes. What type of programs are they offering, what type of specialized care (TMJ, Vertigo, Fibromyalgia, Scoliosis, Osteoarthritis, etc.)? Fill in the gaps and start offering something that’s not being offered by your competitors. Stand out!
2) Research yourself. How are your stats? If you don’t have stats, start! What is your “No-show” rate? You should know this, it’s a clear indicator of the performance of your staff. If it’s consistently more than 5% (3% for the pros) your patients are not perceiving the value of their treatment sessions. Your staff are not trained well. What is your “Loyalty Rating”? How many of your active patients have brought in a family member or friend in the last 30 days. This is critical to the success of your practice. There are more stats such as Collection Rate, Timeliness Mark, and more. If you are not keeping these stats, how are you determining the successfulness of your practice each and every month, every year?
3) Get coaching. The best get coaching. If you want to be the best 100-meter sprinter, golfer, figure skater, fortune 500 company, ballerina, singer, dancer, NFL team, etcetera, you MUST get coaching. It’s nearly impossible to become great without one. Most private practice owners have no ACCOUNTABILITY. No one looking over their shoulder. No one patting them on the back. It’s easy to waste time. Get lazy. Not thrive. You need the objective eye of an expert that can eliminate weaknesses and strengthen strengths to new heights. Motivate you. Push you. Hold you accountable. Do you want to be the best? Then start acting like it and get a coach. Contact me for more info.
