Laying with your knees and hips at 90 degree angles can give you relief from a back ache. When you are in the throes of back discomfort, you have to attempt to quiet muscle spasms. You can quickly ease the pain by laying down and putting heat on your tense muscles. Cutting back on sodium while drinking a plenty of fluids, especially water, can help to ease the pain. Dehydration can cause or worsen your muscle spasms.

A simple way to relax is to release all the tension from your body when lying down. Then, concentrate on one body section at a time, flexing muscles independently of one another. This concentrated tension and release tactic will loosen tension and relax the entire body.

A good way to reduce back pain is not drinking caffeine. This is some proof that caffeine can trigger muscles spasms. Theses spasms can cause inflammation in muscles which are already damaged. So, consider consuming lesser amounts of caffeinated coffees, sodas and tea if you want to give your back a break.
